Listed questions and answers, commonly asked in some context, and pertaining to music licensing and the Palisade Hills Music Library.

What is a music license?
Simply put, a music license is an agreement between a music user and the owner that says it's okay to use their music.
Is music licensing complicated?
Not at all. Just go through our music library, pick out the perfect song for your project, and simply click 'License' and select the License Type best suitable for the intended use. Then register your details when prompted and complete your purchase.

What exactly am I purchasing ?
When you purchase music and sound you are NOT obtaining OWNERSHIP of the music or sound track, you are in fact purchasing a LICENSE to use the recording within your media production ( or for private use ), whether or not your production is released commercially. The original producer/composer of the music and sound will always retain OWNERSHIP of the recording and composition.
Do I need to have an account?
In order to license and download music or sound you need to Login. If this is your first time here you can register upon your first selection of any audio track. Or you can register  HERE
Do I need to submit a cue sheet to ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC?
Yes, but only for broadcast or theater usage. This applies not only to the music you get from us, but for any music you use in a broadcast or commercial production. Download our standardized cue sheet below:
Cue Sheet
I used one of your tracks in my film.
Who do I credit?
You should give credit to the artist and composer of the music. That information is listed on both the track's preview page and in the email you are sent to confirm your purchase.

How many times can I use a track?
The license you select applies to the use of the track. If you buy a “personal/home” license and want to use the track in a broadcast or for business use, you will need to ”upgrade” to the appropriate license. You can use the track as many times in that project as you wish as long as it meets the license agreement.
Do you have a returns policy ?
Once a track is purchased and downloaded we cannot accept the track back as it could have been duplicated.
